Wrestling with God
Wrestling With God—Small Group
As Christians we are challenged by some big questions. Where is God in the world today? How do I reconcile my life as a Christian with the pressures of society? How do I hear God's voice? How do I relate to my church? How do I live a life which reflects my calling and my faith?
Christians have long wrestled with these big questions. The Old Testament quite literally says Jacob wrestled with God (Genesis 32: 22-32), while the disciples on the road to Emmaus more figuratively wrestle with the idea of the risen Christ (Luke 24: 13-35). Common to such stories is the change that comes over us through encounters with God.
In our new Wrestling With God small group at Grovely, we are calling parishioners keen to explore and deepen their relationship with God. Every month we will reflect on and discuss a reading, short video, movie, podcast, or article that challenges us in who we are as Christians. We offer a safe place to doubt and question in a community that is generous and open. Meetings will be held from 5-7 pm on the first Sunday of the month at All Saints church. Please bring a plate of food to share.
